Looking for daughter of Raymond Douglas Harris

Question

I am looking for information on Raymond Douglas(Doug) Harris's daughter. I found her name and it is Stephenie Lane Harris (According to his obit) I am pretty sure she is from Nashville area. Doug was born 11/08/1938 in tennessee and died 12/31/1970. He was shot in a store. I have looked for any information on his death hoping it would tell of his daughter but had no luck. He had two sisters Shelby Jean Harris (Steakley) and Elizabeth M. Harris (White) It would be great if I could find out if they had children. Does anyone know anything about this family? I would love to find any information at all!

Thank you. I have this information already.  I have also been trying to find her. Also no luck. He had 2 sisters one has passed as well as both parents but I believe this sister to still be alive. I have come to the conclusion that I absolutely stink at genealogy lol.

Years ago, I went to a Family History Library to do some research. A lot of time was spent trying to find something about and ancestor who was a gg grandfather and his father too. I got nowhere after what seemed to be a very long time. 

The librarian encouraged me not to give up and that I could sleuth something out. Not too many days later, a librarian at the same library helped me find what I was looking for and more. 

Maybe with some help you will sleuth something out. Town clerks can help, genealogy groups can be good resources, and living relatives can be helpful too.

You are so kind!  We don't have any contact with his father's family.  His aunt and uncle on his mother's side adopted him after his parents died. His momma died right after he was born and he was 2 when his dad passed. His father never really raised him. Lol I think he was a bit of a trouble maker and my husband's aunt and uncle kept him away as much as possible.  They aren't interested in my husband finding this other child of his father's. I will see what I can find with the information you gave me. Thank goodness it is a least a place to start. This is like a full time job. I never dreamed it would be so hard to find her. Hello :) I have emailed you but unsure if you got it! I am so excited that you found this! Are you related to Doug? He is my husbands father. I have searched like crazy trying to find his sister. Her name is Stephanie Lane Harris. My husbands parents both died when he was a baby and he was adopted. I would love to find any information on his family! Elizabeth has passed away. I think her married name was White. As far as I can tell Shelby Jean is still living. Doug died long ago. I know their mother Bertie is also passed. I have no idea about my husbands half sister Stephanie. I have talked to some of the Harris family and even invited to a Harris family reunion in August. I drove downtown to the main library. I found the obit for Douglas harris and found out my husband's sister is actually named Stephenie Lane Harris.  Looks like a new search will begin.

Here's a possibility who lived in Nashville from 1997-1999. If she had the Harris surname for her last name, does that mean that she did not marry?

Thank you for you help. I don't believe that is her. My husband's father was born in 1937. She would be to old to be his child. It's been a frustrating search. I am afraid I will never find her :(

My name is Stephanie Layne Harris Parnell Henley.  Doug Harris was my biological father.  My mom is Sandra Gardner Parnell.  I have one sister, Stacy, who is also Doug's daughter.  Could your husband be my half brother?
