How to expand on an occupation description for multiple profiles

I've been working on a family where multiple sons in several generations were described as Whitesmith in birth, marriage and census records. Other sources, like trade directories, show that Whitesmith was a broad category and that they were specifically brass founders and bell hangers. I could write some text to that effect, including sources, and then paste that into each and every profile. But isn't there a better way to capture this?

That is why we have categories.

You can work them in here.

That's the appropriate place for a general description of an occupation, but I don't think it is the right place for details of a particular family.
The category would show membership in the profession. A related option would be to create a personal category to tie them together; those are underutilized. Otherwise, a free-space page would work, but it doesn't sound like there are enough family members to warrant that.
Excellent idea, I hadn't come across personal categories before. I will do just that. And I'll add the general details for whitesmith in the occupations category. You have the 'best answer' star ;)
Thanks, Chris! I want to see what you come up with!
It's going to be very experimental while I figure out what I can do in a category. But that's half the fun!
