I just moved back to North Louisiana from Virginia (to bad I was not far enough in my tree, have a lot of family from there,)  Let me know if I can help.  Willing to travel somewhat locally (Currently jobless).

Do you have any Bechtler's in your line? I've seen that surname spelled so many ways I'm just wondering if your line has any.

I have yet to see any with that spelling and my tree goes way back (belchers 1380's unconfirmed) that's where I hope WikiTree will help. I have seen some Belsher.  Sorry I can not be more help.

There is a huge Belcher lineage at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Belcher-419 from Virginia (my fourth great grandfather) that could definitely use some sourcing.  Any assistance is appreciated!

in 1796 I believe that was still Culpeper County.

Rappahannock became separate from Culpeper County by an Act of the General Assembly in 1833.  Looking to see if I can find the 1833 General Assembly notes online.  More Later.

It looks like James Belcher father John Belcher is the brother of Richard Belcher (7 generations from me) which is my branch.  (It late so if I am wrong sorry. but that would make us 7th cousins, right?)
