What are you finding with the updated AncestryDNA?

Well Ancestry has done a big update to their DNA matching. I love it.

My experience so far is that it seems to get riid of matches from groups of people that lived in the same area and intermarried cousins. One of my 'big discoveries' after my first DNA test was that my great grandfather might have been the product of a non-paternity event (NPE). However, with the new DNA results, those groups of people, the Swaffords and the Lees, have been moved further down my match list, and new matches have surfaced that actually indicate that perhaps the Swafford, Howards and Lees were related to his mother a  couple generations back rather than to the unknown father.

I am curious how other people might be experiencing the changes.

I do know that one of the high matches I had before moved way down the list, but there's no doubt that there is  true connection.  as I've seen other connections to the same ancestor.  I'm hoping to find an actual person here who gives a match here so I can see what a mstch looks like when I examine individual chromosomes.  Of course, different lines may have connections via different chromosomes so that's a consideration.  Anyway, that's one of the things I need to do some research about.

Hi Lance, I haven't noticed much in the way of changes since their update.  I still have 202 pages of matches and 17 circles -- about what I had before.  I've seen a huge amount of discussion on the AncestryDNA discussion group on Yahoo as it relates to Jeff Snavely's AncestryDNAHelper Chrome extension and what you need to do now (and I highly recommend this Chrome extension if you don't already have it!).  The same group has had people mention that family trees have been disconnected from people's DNA tests, but Ancestry.com was working on it.  Hopefully that's been resolved.
