Why did the month of May end on May 30 instead of May 31 in regards to badges and contributions?

Question

I know that badges shouldn't be taken too seriously, but it has become my personal goal to earn the 1000 Badge each month. I was almost there for May but when I logged in tonight I discovered that the month of June had started and I was back to 0 contribuion again. Does the badge return to 0 on the 30th day instead of the 31st

The cut off is at 00:00 GMT (not EST) - so around 8 PM EST the counts cut off and start counting towards a new month.

Today is October 30 GMT. Contributions I made this morning are showing as points earned for November. I was trying to enter 100 points today to earn the 1000 CF badge.

Please someone fix this. We should have one more day not including today to be counted in October.

This seems to an ongoing problem that many have noted.

Perhaps a glitch or someone was already made aware of the mistake.  I haven't rec'd a May badge as of yet. However I did notice as you probably did, June contributions are already being recorded on May 31st. I'm sure someone will correct it. :)

For me (I live in Britain) yesterday 'morning' (31st May 2016), it stated on my Badge page - Badges will be awarded in July (not June) - I raised this question yesterday.

It didn't end on May 30, it was the 31st.  But, depending on where you live, it may have been before midnight.  They may use Greenwich Mean Time, but I'm not sure about that detail.  In my time zone, it's on the evening of the last day of the month.
