I can't see any info to substantiate why these 2 shouldn't be merged (I must be missing something).

Hi~

I just don't see anything concrete to support these 2 not being merged.  Some dates are different, but that can be explained.  For instance: On profile 41 it states that Marie lived to be 105 in yrs. (which in itself is not impossible but unlikely unless there is data to confirm).  I admit there may be info I am not aware of but even the names are the same but different in spelling only, or just need combined.  I would feel safe in concluding the date is incorrect.

Also, I see the same likeness's and difference's in both of her husbands profiles (like the birth date is 1699 not 1600).  As far as his name I have seen it listed as Luis Christian Ladner though it appears he went by Christian Ladner.

Let me know if I can be of any help.  I do have a document on my computer that I have yet to see here.  It appears to be very authentic.

~ Thanx!

So, with that compare list you showed me.

That column on the left marked field at the top.

Does that mean I need only concern myself with those issues?  Is that the purpose for the format?

Am trying to decipher.

My knowledge is very limited and just to do with my direct ancestors.  I haven't yet been researching aunts, uncles, cousins etc. (as thoroughly).

Will work on it.  It would help a lot if I could just understand the format of the list!  Any answers?

Oh, I see.  So they should be merged, but the parents should be merged first.  The snag has not to do with data, just the order.  Am I understanding you correctly?

Thank you for the info!

Don't know what just happened here.  Don't know how to fix.

Hi Dorothy Barry ~

Thank you for the info and comments!

So if I have access to merge I should do so.  Just contact the manager first.  But if there are complications send it to somebody, right?

Much appreciated!

Thanx for all the help and patience to everyone.  It just helps to understand why I am doing something in order to do it correctly.
Yes, that's what I meant.

You don't need to contact managers at this point.  They've already had notifications and the merges have been approved.

Got it!

What does "clear duplicate" mean?

Thanx RJ!

Hello ~

Found a probable new wife for Ladner-621

It makes sense because the current wife died 4 yrs. before the son was born.  So 621 must have remarried after his wives death and this new woman is the sons mother.

All indications point to the sons date of birth being correct as oppose to the mothers/wives date of death being incorrect.

Anyway, I thought it best to collaborate before going forward.  This profile fits the 1700's project.

I found this new wife on my tree at FamilySearch.com if you wish to research.

Thanx!

Mary: I recommend communicating directly with the profile managers concerning this. They may not have access to or know about this question so emailing them would be a better option.

For Ladner-621 — Profile managers are: Michelle Ladner private message [send private message] and Frank Schneider private message [send private message]

You will see that right before the biography section of the profile.

"Clear duplicate" just saves you writing "obvious" in the explanation box

I see.  Perhaps it should read "clearly duplicate"

Thank you!
