If you are only searching online, it may be that the records are not online. You may have to dig deeper, by contacting the Maine Family Court or archives. You can probably do a google search to determine where to start looking for divorce records in the time period.

I was afraid you'd say something like that. Maine is notorious for not having records on line, especially in the "unorganized territories". I certainly will keep digging. Been through town reports (fascinating nuggets of info too), and the few churches that have records available.

And yes, I'm doing it on-line, and free. Other than library editions that I can access at libraries, I don't subscribe to paid services.

I will be visiting maine soon (I hope) to do some leg work.

In the meantime I have a question. Do you find that divorce etc. records are generally much harder to site than births etc?

I Honestly don't know, except that very few divorce records are online at this time.

They look like two different Evelyns to me.  The one you mention lived in Bingham, Maine.  

The one who married Willivam McKenzie lived in Bridgewater.  He parens were Emerson and Ethel.  She was born in 1911.
