My 9th GGrandfather was Timothy Parker born in Berkley VA in 1760 , he had one son, Joel and I can find no record of his parents or a wife. I have his military records and he signed to fight in the Rev War 4 times and in the War of 1812 at the age of 73. His son, Joel was born in 1777 and married Phoebe Hopkins. Please will someone help me prove that Timothy was the father of Joel ?

Thank you

The DAR database lists 2 Timothy Parkers. Both born in the 1730s, one in Masschusetts, and the other in Connecticut.

The SAR database lists 3 Timothy Parkers. 2 from Connecticut, and 1 from North Carolina.

The one from North Carolina was born in 1758, which is somewhat close. Looks like he was buried in Rutherford, Tennessee. But no known death date in their database. Not much else on this person.

Hard to tell if that would be match or not.

It certainly is likely that he is the father of Joel. They were living near one another as listed in the 1810 census. However, I can not find a birth record for Joel.

Timothy's will is listed in a probate index (pages 105,109,134) (you might contact the state library)
