He moved from Dorset, England to Dorchester, Massachusetts about 1630. He then moved his family to Windsor, and finally settled at Northampton.

Notice that one of the possible origins is a Thomas that moved to Dorchester with no source for this other than a Thomas had a child baptised/buried there in 1623

On 6th November 1619, the company of  Freemen reported that a complaint had been made that a Thomas Forde had come into the borough to set up, on behalf of a Londoner, a wholesale mercery business.  This was against the charter meant to  keep out 'Forreiners'

In August the next year, Thomas had apparently said that he had been given leave to set up this business by the magistrates and justices of the town.

This was repudiated by a group of them who said that he should be expelled from the town.

However, in 1621 a Thomas Ford, chaundelour was admitted to the Company of Freemen on payment of 6s and 8d.   https://archive.org/stream/cu31924028114357#page/n505/mode/2up

The transcriptions of the town records linked to are only extracts.(though it must have been a mammoth task!)  It is possible that original  records  would yield more information.

A few merges and an unmerged match has created a need for review.

As of May 24, 2016 Thomas Ford has 4 wives on his profile.  According to the Great Migration Begins, He had two wives: Elizabeth Charde Cook, widow of Aaron Cook(e) and Ann, Widow of Thomas Scott.  The profile does not agree with this as of this morning.

One of the four wives was a duplicate of Ann Unknown Scott. I proposed a merge.

Also the parents of Thomas ford need to be detached... Again!

I'll take a look at the third wife.
The case for Joane Way as first wife is made in her profile, citing Jacobus. Does Andersen not discuss this at all?
I see this profile now has a set of parents.  However the bio lists three other possible sets of parents.  Do we know what source found the fourth set?
And this fourth set includes a mother with the same name as a mother on one of the other sets. Sigh. Poor Thomas Ford.
I strongly recommend that a Disputed Origins section be appended to the very top of the narrative. As it now stands, the disputed parentage is buried deep in the narrative. That may be contributing to the ongoing addition of non documented parents.
I removed the parents again from the profile of Thomas Ford today August 1.  I added "Disputed Origins", which is based on the best information I know.
Thank you, Becky.
I proposed merges for 3 Ann Scotts - one of whom caused a red DB-ERROR message because of an illogical date on the profile.
