Are changes really being made?

Many times when I receive an email to thank another member for making changes, updating, or adding information, I go to the profile and I do not see any changes. Are these emails generated when only the other member reads the profile, or perhaps they believe they have a change to make, however change their mind and delete their change? Just curious, I do not understand this process. I am all for correcting, updating, & adding information if the information added is correct and actually done. No disrespect is intended in this email, and I have no problem thanking others if I can see what I am thanking them for.

If you click on the Changes tab for the profile in question, you will be able to see what changes, if any, were made and by whom.

Thank you for your reply. I had clicked on "changes" tab  on one of the profiles prior to submitting the question. I could not see any difference. I just went back and reviewed again, perhaps I am just not seeing any changes. If you have a chance, will you please go to:  http://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Space:Swiss_Roots&diff=39761552&oldid=39709238 and see if you see any changes. Thank you, Nancy
The link you gave is not for an individual; it is for a free space page for the Swiss Roots Project. Please look again for an individual's profile.

I did see one change made to this page by Abby Glann, she added a category.

Hi Nancy,

In this case, it looks like Abby removed the category "New Projects."  You can tell, because it is in red on the left, and it is gone on the right.  The changes pages give you a comparison between how the profile was and how it is now.

Sometimes though the changes page does not show a change, and that is usually when none was made.  I know I've done it.  I will have several profiles open at once working on a whole family, and forget which ones I changed.  So I will save them all, just in case.

This link is about the Changes pages  Good question!
