Has anyone been able to find the ancestry for Maria Magdalena Ritter Spengler? She was born about 1706 in Germany (possibly Sinsheim, Weiler,  Baden-Württemberg), married Baltzer Spengler April 1732 in Sinsheim, immigrated to Philadelphia as new bride in October 1732, died 1784 York County, PA.

Thanks!

Thanks so much! I'm not sure that she was Catholic, though. But it gives me another angle to research. Duttenberg is only about 35 miles East of Sinsheim ... so it's possible.
After more research, I think it unlikely that this is the correct Maria Magdalena Ritter Spengler. The Spengler family were Evangelical Lutherans in Germany and in America. In fact, an ancestor of Baltzer (husband of Maria), Lazarus, was a coadjutor with Martin Luther. See https://archive.org/stream/annalsoffamilies00inspan#page/248/mode/2up

I don't believe that during the 1700s in Germany, a Catholic woman would marry a Lutheran, but I could easily be wrong.

Any other ideas? Thanks again!

Also the Maria M. Ritter suggested by Frank Gill, married Joan Georg Oeche, so she's not 'mine'. Another proposed birth by researchers on Ancestry, have a birth of 30 Sep 1706 to Joannes and Joanna (Wenger) Ritter in Berg, Germany. Unless "Berg" is a mis-transcription of Steinsburg or Baden-Württemberg, this too is the wrong woman. Further exploration indicates this IS the wrong woman. The birth record at familysearch.org claims residence in Engen, Baden, Germany (2 hours south of Steinsburg, which seems unlikely.

Updating the information, in case others are searching for her.

The FamilySearch.org "Germany Births and Baptisms" is full of issues. See their wiki https://familysearch.org/wiki/en/Germany_Births_and_Baptisms_(FamilySearch_Historical_Records)/Known_Issues for more details.

Thanks again, Frank! If I can confirm that this is the right family, it's great to have more family members. And, perhaps a back door search on Antonius will lead to more information on the family and lead to the Spengler connection. Again, thanks!
