I wanted to share this family photo of my great grandma, Hilda Woods, with the community. Location: unknown. Date: 1919. I know she was on the stage at a young age, singing for the troops and then acting. She was in a play called Roses of Picardy with my great granddad, Harry Fraser, in 1919 but I have no idea if this is a photo to do with that or not. I love the picture though and wish I could find more about Harry. They had one daughter who survived out of 3 children which was incredibly sad for them and possibly what helped their marriage to end in, I believe, 1928. Martha Hilda Woods is my great grandma's full birth name. She was known on the stage initially as Hilda Woods and later as Queenie Olwyn. I have found some details about her and her family background. However my dear great Granddad Harry has been lost in time as far as I know. I just can find nothing about him except that they married in 1919. He was born 1892 and his father was also Harry. (although that is not trustworthy since they were always calling themselves by entirely different or middle names!) I think, when their daughter was born, my grandma, he was living in Hilda's parents' home in Liverpool. But I don't think he is the Harry Fraser, dob 1892, from Liverpool. Hard to find as an actor too because of a director of the same name always cropping up. (it isn't him) and a pianist called Harry Fraser Simson. Makes it all so difficult. Still I thought others may like to see such a lovely old picture.
