Who was Phoebe Redman's Indian Ancestors?

Phoebe Makabweskakaha (Indian Ancestor) married Wolverton Redman 1700s. The Indian name suggest Sauk Tribe, but verbal story was Cherokee. I would love to know my Indian tribe. My father always told me she was a princess, but that story is popular so I tend to think he added that to make me feel special

I have already found possible Powhatan tribe in my tree. GedMatch did show very small amounts in my DNA & 23andme shows none. I believe that a few early European ancestors married Indian women. I am Proud of All my DNA ancestors no matter what nationality.

Any time frame info? Birth year, marriage year, or death year? Location, state, county and city?
1700s. My timeline Ancestor Chart for Jesse Redman seems to be missing a generation so I stopped. I believe it may have been during French Indian war.

 French and Indian War (1754–63)

Yes that is correct timeline. I have found Redman of Ohio & WVA that match stories passed down. Pheobe & Wolverton Redman had a daughter named EveAnn married my Spielman ancestor. Her sister married a freed slave who is connected to Henry Louis Gates I believe. Many of the Redmans of the area are listed as mixed Races. I believe these ancestors may have been part of Underground Railroad.

I still have not found confirmed Indian Tribe. Virginia Redmans are listed as Powhatan. I suppose it is possible but according to Peobe's Indian name Makabweskakaha, I have read many theories but nothing confirmed.  My father always said she was a daughter of a chief.  I always thought he made that up, but the Redman Powhatan was a princess, so I wonder if they moved?

Found this on a message board: A family genealogy made about 100 years ago says that the parents of this Jesse Wolverton REDMAN, Sr. were Wolverton REDMAN who married an Indian woman by the name of Makabweskakaha who took the English given name of Phoebe=Phebe. However I know of no documentation to support this claim

There is no such thing as an Indian Princess, Powhatan or otherwise.

Powhatan Chief had many daughters that were called princess by white men. Some white men  married some of these daughters or Indian women  to establish relationships with the chief. To call them princess was a verbal tradition not actual title. I do not have evidence, only DNA connections & verbal history

I have not found evidence of who Pheobe was either, other then several verbal stories (including my own verbal story that was passed down). This is why I have asked for help. I hope to find the truth or evidence of this story. There must be some truth to the story for several people to have the same verbal stories who have never met. The West Virginia/Virginia/Ohio Redmans were a mixed race of White, Black & Indian depending on the branch & marriages. This is why DNA connects to Gates.  It is my hopes to solve this question with evidence as I do not like listing ancestors based on verbal history alone. Although all verbal history so far has turned out to be truth. DNA is a good tool in showing such evidence, but after many generations the Nationalities from long ago do wash out. Therefore it makes it difficult when researching this far back. If you are related in any way to this, I would like to share Stories, Family Tree or DNA.  It is my hopes to connect families without prejudism and mean no shame in any family secrets that may be revealed. I am proud of All my Nationalities.
How far up the Redman side do you have documented ancestry? Who is the last Redman ancestor for whom you have proof? I will see if I can find anything for you, but need some names and  dates.
Thanks. My Redman/Spielman ancestors came from Ohio, West Virginia & MD as far back as 1700s. Prior to that I have no idea as they were all born in America & Census does not reveal. Issac Redman, Jesse Redman, Eva Ann Redman b 1780s married Peter Spielman. I would love to know the truth. Thanks so much!
Update, lack of Evidence for this person to be related. There is no records to prove a relationship.  End of discussion.
My Grandmother was the daughter of Issac Clifford and Elizabeth Redman...She supposedly was the half sister of Louis Gates Grandmother...As Issac Clifford was married prior to Elizabeth Redman..My grandmother's name was Susan Clifford who married Thaddeus Kent!

My Mother married into the Kent/Clfford family..She taught school in Cumberland and there was a huge indicator of Indian Ancestry...
