Sarah McConnell was b. 1756, Bedford, Westchester Co, NY daughter of George McConnell & Martha "Patty" Seely.  Sarah married unknown.  From a family history, "Sarah married a Rapilia, brother of General Rapilia of the War of 1812."  This history was written by Sarah's brother William and some details in this history are faulty or exaggerated, hence it wouldn't surprise me that spelling of the name and rank of the husband's brother were incorrect, and perhaps it was not a brother but a cousin or something.  I did some research and find in Find-A-Grave Memorial # 73260002 for a Captain Daniel Rapelje of the War of 1812, born in NYC.  Several other family members are also listed in Find-A-Grave.  I believe Sarah's married name may possibly have been Rapelje and this may have been the family she married into, however I can find no marriage records.  They would probably be in the Dutch Reformed Church, and there is a Sarah Rapelje, maiden name, who simply is the response to all of my online research, gumming up the works.  I would love to find the whereabouts of Sarah McConnell Rapelje, my 6x great-aunt.  Thanks much.

My Sarah's name is was Sarah McConnell, parents known, George McConnell and Martha "Patty" Seely.  Sarah's married name was Sarah McConnell Rapelje.  The woman in the Find-A-Grave profile is the daughter of John & Ryme Rapelje, wife of someone named Wyckoff, apparently.

We have a very strong knowledge of this family and many descendents back to our 6x great-grandfather's immigration c.1748, partly because of William McConnell's composition, "History of McConnell."  I should add that one of Sarah's brothers moved to a farm in Oneida County, NY.  I visited the adjacent cemetery last summer.  On the side of the farmhouse it reads "McConnell Farm, Established 1789."  This farm is still owned & farmed by the family, descendants of Thaddeus'.  Though we have some family members we lost track of, we have a strong knowledge of the family.  We are very avidly seeking information on the remainder of the family members.  We also have a branch that settled in Canada (loyalists & missionaries).
