Is this a can of worms or what?

I won't be able to input more info about my Morley tree as it wants to link up with tree's that assume they were Morley's.This has been a subject of much debate.Early records indicate that Thomas Marlow married Martha Wright and the resulting children were bapt. Marlow. At which point they claimed Morley is unclear or why.I left a comment on Morley-72 and mailed the profile manager about this but received no reply.

Is the documentation (such as a will or bible record) indicate the names of the children  If so, check for the verification found in other profiles with Morley. If the names, and dates don't match (if it wants to merge) make it a match instead of initiating a merge so that way you can contact the profile manager to find out if you have a correct match. If nothing is there as documentation where the info came from, reject the match.

As long as you have a source to verify where you have gotten the information in the biography, you will be way ahead of others saying that they are sharing the same tree with you.

George,

Could you give me the profile at which you have stopped adding information?

If the other trees in question are unsourced and not matches then you would mark them as rejected matches.

I marked Morley-72  with a citation needed  note in the top of the biography.

I would suggest placing a nice comment on the specific profile pages in question  so you can collaborate with them in order to correct conflicting information.

Thankyou both for responding. The profiles of the trees in question have been gathered from Ancestry and L.D.S. and as such contain a lot of errors. My tree is taken from parish registers and wills back to 1592 and a professional researcher in England. It is not so much the English part but the American part that is linked to mine now.Every time I want to add something it will go to a lower number which is fine but all those American lines may well be NOT related. If I continue means I accept the Thomas Morley/Marlow profile as correct. The reason I joined was hoping to find an American Morley who claims descendancy from that Thomas and is willing to do a DNA test to solve this mystery.Michelle the point I stopped adding was at morley-620.Thanks again.
you're welcome, George.  I'm glad I could be of help.

M.
Have you recieved a resonse from the manager of Morley-72?
Hi Michelle,no I've not received a reply.I will let it rest for the time being.I could put a link to the entry of Thomas MARLOW and Martha's marriage by the town clerk on the Morley-72 page if it would help. It's a very good image and now I'm questioning whether it's Marlow, lol. Thanks for asking.  George
Your very welcome George
