Help with GedMatch report result

I have a question about how some of the GedMatch Reports show Chromosome 23.   In some reports this is clearly called out as X which limits the reporting to female relationships (mom's line and dad's mom's line for any daughters of dad).  But where it says 23 and shows two males, does this mean they could share a Y relationship?   Or is it really only X that is being reported?   One of the reports I am looking at is the People Who Match 1 or 2 Kits and then selecting some and submitting them where they come back with the chromosome and SNP breakdowns by person for each match.

I looked and could not find anything specifically on this feature for that report.  I did find these two URLs on how to use the report

x DNA is passed on to all children of a couple. As you mention, any female descendants receive an x Chromosome from their father and their mother while male descendants only receive their x Chromosome from their mother.

So if you have a matching x Chromosome segment for two male testers it means that they both received that segment from their respective mother's x Chromosome ancestors.

My Mother, my mother's parents, her father's mother and both of her mother's parents, etc, etc.

If you go to https://www.wikitree.com/treewidget/Pennie-22/89 the top tree shows who contributed to your x Chromosome.

Thank you for the response Simon but I do understand how it works.

My question is specific to how GedMatch is using the designation of Chromosome 23 in Reports Does it only mean X or if there are two males can it mean Y?  I need to understand what the specific designation in the report means.  In some reports it is clear because it says X.  But in some reports is says Chromosome 23.  I am hoping it means if two males match on chromosome 23 it could be a Y match as opposed to an X match from the mother.  I am hoping if it is only the X the report would say X instead of Chromosome 23.  But I don't want to assume that.

Apologies Laura.

The result is purely x Chromosome. GEDMatch does not include matching for the y Chromosome.
That is what I was afraid of.  Thanks for confirming it!
