His marriage record has his first name spelled Lawrence, middle name is Jacobus, last name Jonck.

Marriage 14 Jul 1932 at Ladysmith, Natal , South Africa

Age is 23, spouse is Magdalena Jacoba Joubert, and her age is 21.

This is how I have it. My brother and nephew spells their name the same way

I would go with the christening record as that used to be the first primary record of naming a child in South Africa.

This is the logical approach, given his nickname by my grandma as Loupie,. His christening spelling is Louwrence, but the spelling and the way he spelled it is Lawrence.

My father’s given name was spelled bizarrely on his birth certificate from 1905 in Illinois. We went through the formal process to get it corrected to be what he actually used throughout his life.
