I am in the process of adding individuals from a small .gedcom of 25 persons and the "ADD" buttons have disappeared.How can I get them back?

Did you click the "Refresh" button? This will take you back to the beginning of the process.

Check already completed profiles, there may have been new matches that popped up since you dealt with them. If there is one floating around the ADD buttons should come back once you have resolved that new match.
