I joined Wikitree in 2016 yet am the profile manager for many profiles I did not create, added years before I joined/

well, do you want to keep all or some?

after you decided that then you decide which ones you will orphan.

Check them first perhaps to see if they have adequate sourcing and then change their privacy level to wide open (WHITE) and then remove yourself as PM which then provides another PM with the opportunity to adopt them

You adopted enough profiles to earn the Big Heart badge.  Could that explain it?

Open one of the mystery profiles and look at its Change log.  That should reveal how you came to manage it.

I do not recall adopting many of these, and some of the profiles are for people I know nothing about.  Odd...

Look at your contributions... back on 25 Sep 2017, you adopted a large number of profiles. Are these the ones you are seeing? Maybe you didn't realize what you were doing at the time?

Thanks, that appears to be it.  Though how I adopted some 80 profiles apparently within the same minute is a mystery, if I'm reading that right.  Maybe the original profile manager turned them over to me?
