You can't change your profile to Public -- that option isn't allowed for living people.

The closest thing to Public that we can select for our own profiles is Private with Public Biography and Family Tree. Use the Privacy tab on your profile to change to that Privacy level.

Your GEDCOM was uploaded for GEDCOMpare. Find it at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:UploadGedcom

Hi, Kat,

From your profile page, click on the privacy tab, then choose either the green setting or one of the two lowest yellow settings. any of those setting will allow people to see your family tree. Be sure to save the changes after you have chosen a new setting!

Open is not an option for living people and would allow anyone to edit your profile which you definitely do not want. wink

Hope that helps. smiley

thank you both. I have done that

i uploaded a gedcom yesterday how do I know if it is there
Green isn't an option for a living person's profile.
I edited my message a couple of minutes ago to include information on where to find your GEDCOMpare.
ive done my gedcompare and matched a few names but then what happens to it. I mean I have a gedcom number. does it get recorded so that others can see it

Kat,

Here is the help page for GEDCOMpare. Profiles must be imported or updated one at a time after you have completed the comparison process. It is not automatic and it is not possible to add profiles in bulk.

The add buttons will not appear until you have completed comparing and matching the entire GEDCOM.
