Colville Ross Hassard Finnis [Finniss-17] had 4 sons and according to what I have been told was married to Mrs Eva Jane Finniss nee Doveton  [Doveton-28], however I have found a death certificate and it mention's Emma Jenny Finnis von Broem?sen nee Oels?hig as the wife at the time of Colville's death at the age of 72yrs.  I would love to find when Eva died and/or when Jenny came into the picture. I know the Eva was the mother as the 4 children as the family names carry through from her side of the family as the boys 2nd and 3rd names

Hi,

Please see source for death certificate with regards to the wife of Colville Ross Hassard Finniss [Finniss-16] and mother of the boys. In the death notice it mentions Emma Jenny as the wife on his death and not Eva Jane Doverton Finniss, I am trying to find when Eva disappeared from the picture and the new wife Emma Jenny appeared. Did Eva die or did the marriage split?

Adding sources will help you clarify things.  That death record would be a great start.

Update:  I added the probate and other records, but the death record would be a very good one to add, and created a short stub of a biography with inline citations to demonstrate how they look.

The fact that the probate record has a line for other spouses, including dead ones, and it i blank.

I didn't look at the actual records for the children; that may give mother's name.
