40-year old mystery solved by composite sketch and DNA!

Have you seen this article about a woman found in Central Texas nicknamed 'Orange Socks' finally identified after 40 years?  I was living in this area when she was initially found, but she has just now been identified through a composite sketch seen by her sister, then verified through DNA Doe Project and GEDmatch.  Terribly sad story, but gives her a name and some closure to the family.  DNA is helping resolve all kinds of mysteries.

Thanks Edie for sharing, while very sad, the story of GEDmatch helping to resolve such a cold case is fascinating. It really highlights how DNA, combined with the connections researched and documented by everyday family tree researchers (like us on Wikitree), is making waves!
