Nothing Adds Up with Catherine Evans and her marriages

Catherine Evans, born about 1835, daughter of Samuel Coleman Evans and Hannah Michael, was married to English immigrant Thomas Cormack in 1867.  They are in the 1870 Census for Mercer County, Missouri in 1870.  With them is a Samuel Evans, aged 18, and his younger siblings, whose relationship to Catherine I do not know.

After that Catherine disappears. She is also supposed to have married a James Huff, about whom nothing is known.  I can find no marriage record of a Catherine Cormack or McCormack and a James Huff in Missouri.

Catherine's brothers John and Dudley Evans went to Idaho after their father died in 1873.  There's a Find a Grave memorial for a Catherine Huff in Idaho, dates about 1836-1900. A FamilySearch profile has given her the name Catherine Evans Huff.  I found no Catherine Huff in the 1900 Census in Idaho.

I need some better marriage and death information for Catherine.  Also I would like to know who the Samuel, Joseph, Julia, John and Mary Evans are who were living with her in 1870.

Found out that Catherine was married to James Evans in 1851.  They are in the 1860 Census for Dearborn County, Indiana with the same children (only James instead of Samuel) as Catherine has in 1870.

I wonder if James Evans was killed in the Civil War?  In the 1860 Census James N. Evans is age 27 b in Indiana.
Missouri you must pay for marriage records.
