Looking for history of personal contacts for trusted lists or mergers.

Is there a place or way for me to see my history of personal contacts so that I know if I have contacted someone about a certain profile or merger? Or do I just need to keep a notebook for that info?  Also what is a reasonable amount of time to wait for a response before either repeating the request or asking for help from a supervisor?  Ann

If your going to post a message for someone ie. merge request etc.

It may pay to post a message on the profile, it would be dated etc for you.

You may also wish to check the profile manager and see if he is active. If so he may have accidently missed the message. (I usually answer within 30 min if I'm on line)

To check if a manager is active you could go to his profile page and look at contributions. (has he been arround in the last 3 months)

I have been looking for something like that, but haven't found it yet.

My system for keeping track - I send myself an email.  A note book might work for me, too.  Some mail programs (like outlook) will time when a message goes out or remind you with a pop-up.

A week is considered the good time to wait.  Most people answer within 2 days.  I've heard from some 6 weeks later.

Hi Ann,

To expand on what Mike and Becky wrote:

There is no integrated "pending inquiries" system. Like Becky says, that might be a nice thing to add someday.

In a separate G2G thread, someone had suggested that we send cc's of Trusted Lists requests in the same way we send cc's of Private Messages. That is, when you send a Private Message you get a copy of what you sent in your own e-mail inbox. This isn't (yet) true of Trusted List requests.

Like Mike said, Changes and Contributions pages might be useful. If you post comments on profile's bulletin boards those will appear in your Contributions history.

Another thing that might be useful: There's a free space for jotting notes on your Navigation Home Page.

Regarding getting help from a Supervisor if there is no response to your requests, this is the official policy: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unresponsive_Profile_Managers

It's a real problem when people don't respond, but we hate to close someone's account unless it's been a long time since they've participated.
