There is a Young Hughes/Hews married to Nancy in the 1860 and 1880 AL census. Didn't find anything on Young Hughes at an earlier date.

I am a descendant of Young Hughes and Nancy Preslar Hughes. The info I have from a Hughes family Bible is similar to what you have listed above. I do not know what Young's parents' names are yet, but I *think* his father was James?? maybe?? I have not verified this yet, so don't hold me to it. I have just started to research this. Any info you have is very much appreciated.
