Wanting to find the wife of John Roy MacKay

I have entered the profile for my 3xgreat grandfather, John Roy MacKay,  MacKay-3473, the 4th hereditary piper to the Lairds of Gairloch. Before I enter his father, I would like to find his wife, a Miss McRae of Kintail, Ross-shire. They married about 1774. No published records that I can find with her first name. None of the online histories mention her name, and neither does her son in his history. Suggestions include Catherine, Margaret and Janet, but none of these has sources. There may be somewhere I have missed that someone else may know.

Thanks so much Marion. It was the Catheine Janet that I was seeking as that is the one that has eluded me. But what source is used to confirm that name? And the date of birth and death? That is what I am seeking. Plenty of online trees including FamilySearch give the names, but I have seen nothing that proves what it is. The rest of the family I have with sources to published histories given on my profile for John Roy MacKay. I want absolute proof as to what the name is to properly source it so I can add her profile.

The marriage is a different John and Catherine as mine married in about 1774. I have a possible birth for Margaret MacKay in 1775.

Thanks again for your help.
Sorry, that’s all i found.
