how to direct WikiTree Genealogy Feed so all family members' trees go to one person

Hello,  I am working on my family with one WikiTree acc't, and my husand's family tree on another account.  At the time it appeared that the only way to do that was to make 2 separate ID's and have all contact (Genealogy Feed and Family News) go to separate emails.

My husband isn't interested in getting these emails as I do all the family research (it is not his hobby but mine) and I would like to know how to make all contact for Miles-6574 and Stafford-4209 go to [email removed].

Thank you for your help.

Cathy, you should edit your post and remove the email address as a precaution against spammers picking it up. It isn't needed on here for you to accomplish your goal of taking over your husband's tree.

You can have his account unsubscribe from all the notifications.

choose "settings" under the MyWikiTree menu

Hi Cathy.  It looks like you are logged into your husband's account right now.  Just to clarify, it's not really necessary to have two separate accounts if your husband isn't interested in the hobby or getting involved in developing data.  At this site we don't have separate trees associated with individual accounts -- it's just one single worldwide tree, one profile per person, where all interested members collaborate on their common ancestors.  You can certainly develop your husband's ancestry as much as you wish using your own account.  It seems like the solution to your problem may be for your husband to close his account, which will stop the e-mails:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Closing_an_Account

If he doesn't wish to close it completely, you or he can go to the 'Settings' sub-menu under your husbands 'My WikiTree' menu at top right of the screen and de-select the types of mail he doesn't want to receive.

Cathy, in addition to selecting his mail preferences, your husband could also make you manager of all profiles he now manages and remove himself as both manager and trusted list.  He could also delete any tags he is following.  Whatever minimal WikiTree emails he might receive after that would probably not be enough to bother him.
Thank you, Dennis.  Originally when trying to begin adding my inlaws, I was told that I was not to be adding my husband's dna that only he could do that, and I understood that to mean that I had to set up a separate tree.  Anyway, I appreciate all the help.

Cathy
Gail, how do we go about your suggestions?

Cathy
Cathy, It looks like you're still logged into your husband's account.  At the top of any WikiTree page, there is a menu in very small text.  The first item on it is "My WikiTree".  Click that and a long list of options will drop down from it.  Select "Settings" on that list to go to the Settings page.  There, you will see all kinds of settings - one kind will be Email, where you will see checkboxes for what kinds of messages you want to receive.  Just un-check all of them, then make sure you save your changes.

To get you to be manager of all the profiles that he manages, when you're logged into his account, click that My WikiTree menu again and select "Watchlist" (I think it's the last one - they're listed alphabetically).  There will be a bunch of buttons across the top - click Watchlist Changes - it's the last one on the right.  You will see an option to add someone else to all profiles on your watchlist - select that and the rest will be easy.  After you do that, you can remove him from all the profiles if that's what he wants.  Just be sure that you are manager of them before doing that!
The one thing I didn't cover above is tags.  To delete (or if you ever want to add) tags to follow (in order to get notification about activity on profiles with those names), go to:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following

and you will be able to add or delete tags.

Cathy/Jack, yes it's now true that you cannot add DNA for another living person (rule was changed not long ago because of the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union).  But my understanding is that if the profile is already in place showing a DNA test result, and the member closes his account while keeping the profile, that data would remain there.  I think the profile would also become Unlisted however, so I'm not sure how that might affect the usefulness of the DNA data.

If the DNA factor is important, take a close look at the help file section for Closing an Account before going that route.  I'm not sure if there could be other unintended consequences, so you may wish to keep the account and follow Gaile's approach instead.  Either way, it would still be the case that it's not two separate trees you're working on, just the tree showing whatever relationships exist.
