Birth & Upbringing: Bruce was born in Umtali in 1952. He was the son of Lionel Desmond Baker and his wife Julia Ann Baker. [1] He had two sisters, Sherril and Lorraine.
Family: Bruce never married.
Education: He was schooled at Guinea Fowl School near Gwelo [2]
Occupation: Bruce worked with a tobacco company in Salisbury after leaving school. He did his national service with the Rhodesian Army and a few months after completing this joined BSA Police April 1974: Reg. No. 9182; served until February 1976. [2]
Demise: Killed in action - ambush while serving as a Patrol Officer with Duty Uniform in Ngarwe TTL (Operation Hurricane) [3] [4] [2] [5] He was 24 years of age.
Burial: Bruce was buried at the Warren Hills Cemetery on 11 February 1976 [2]
