Biography

Charles was my Father. His nickname started out as Buggs Bunny because he was born on Easter Sunday. Over the years it was shortened to Buggs.

Charles {Buggs} was born April 16, 1922 in Davidson County Nashville TN. His parents were Melvin William Biggs Sr. and Nettie Aline Williams Biggs. His only sibling was Melvin William Biggs Jr.

1930 TN. Census Davidson county shows Buggs age 7, in his home of origin. His maternal step-Grandfather Albert Lamb is HOH. age 40 born 1890.Maternal Grandmother Dora Lamb age 43, born 1887, his Father William Melvin Biggs SR. age 28, born 1902. His Mother Aline Williams Biggs age 25, born 1905. Sibling William Melvin Biggs Jr. age 9 born 1921.

1940 TN. Census, Davidson County shows Buggs in his home of origin. Residence is 2005 9th. Ave. North, Nashville TN. Dora Lamb is H.O.H, female, age 54. Education level 8th grade. She is White, Widowed. Melvin Biggs Jr., her grandson, male, age 19, education level is H2. He is white, married. Vera Biggs, her granddaughter- in-law, age 19, Education level H2, She is white, married. Charles Biggs, her grandson, age 17, Education level 8th grade. He is white and single.


Buggs died March 26, 1993 in Nashville TN. He was 70 years of age.

Buggs received an Honorable Discharge from The Army of The United States on October 13, 1945 at the Separation Center, Fort McPherson GA. His last service rendered to Company C. 61st Signal Battalion. Private First Class.
