Will Ellis "Will L" Bishop was born on May 11, 1883 in Mississippi, USA as the first child of Mack Mancel Bishop and Mary Jane Jones.

He had ten siblings, namely: Willie Ellis, Mattie Lillian, Bessie Jane, Eugenia Janie, Wiley E., Andrew E., Elijah Gates Sr, Ernest Lee, Lela Louise, and Ada Mae. One half-sibling.

WILL ELLIS BISHOP

Will Ellis Bishop, 75, died at his home in Mize, Monday. He was a long time resident of Mize and was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Viola Bishop, two daughters, Mrs. Carl Branham of Detroit, Michigan and Mrs. Homer McCallum of Adrian, Michigan; 7 sons, Hines, New Orleans, La., Johnny, Monroe, La., Otis, Jackson, Miss., Herman, Mize, Hilmon, Monroe, R. C., Florence, Miss., and J. W. U. S. Army; 3 sisters, Mrs. Mattie Cockrell and Mrs. Ada Russell, Magee, and Mrs. Janie Jackson, Laurel; 4 brothers, Willie and Lige of Laurel and Andrew and Wiley of Magee.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P. M. from the Mize Baptist church and interment will follow immediately in the Sharon Cemetery near Magee. The body will remain at the family home until time of funeral. Memory Chapel is In charge of arrangements. [5]

Mack Mancel had two sons named Will Ellis with various way of spelling. This son, Willis Ellis headstone has Will L. Bishop but his obituary has Will Ellis Bishop then W L Bishop (1910 census), William L Bishop (1930 census), Will Bishop (1940 census), and Willie Ellis (WWI card). Then on the Social Security Applications & Claims Index, his son, Hilmon Ellis, has Will E. Bishop. Then another son, Herman Woodrow Bishop, has Will Bishop. Bishop-4082

One brother, Ernest Lee Bishop used the name Ellis Bishop on three children's birth certificates when he was in Texas. Bishop-4082
