This _____ Bradford (Bradfuth) is an ancestor of Govenor William Bradford. He lived in the late fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries.
______ Bradford was probably from Bentley, parish of Arksey, Yorkshire, England. He was the father of William and Peter and perhaps other children. It is estimated that he was born about 1435.
Father or Brother? He may be the Robert Bradford taxed in the subsidy of 14 Henry VIII (ie 1522-23). The 16 Henry VIII subsidy (1524-25) did not contain Robert, but his wife instead. The articles author was not positive, thinking this might be a brother of William and Peter.
His wife is unknown.
Children:
William, of Bentley, made his will 19 July 1533. He was born about 1458 (if the eldest child). His will was proved 11 Nov 1533. He was married to Edith ____ (? Mirfyn). Edith survived William and was one of two executors of William's will.
Peter who wrote his will 17 Jan 1542/3
John May be a brother of William and Peter, but could also be a brother of William Bradfurth of Fishlake (testator of 19 Nov 1557)
Robert (possibly a brother but possibly their father. Robert Bradford taxed in the subsidy of 14 Henry VIII (ie 1522-23). The 16 Henry VIII subsidy (1524-25) did not contain Robert, but his wife instead. See above.
