One of the complications which the genealogist or biographer meets in the study of Isaac and Charity Cook while they were at Caesar's Creek Monthly Meeting is the duplication of the names, "Isaac" and "Charity Cook," in the membership of the Caesar's Creek Monthly Meeting. While they were there, at least six Friends of that Meeting, ranging in age from childhood to advanced years, named "Isaac Cook" were members of that meeting. For a few years, two married couples with the identical names of "Isaac and Charity Cook" were members of the meeting. In the meeting records there are no distinctive labels to enable the reader to differentiate between them, except in one instance "Charity Cook a minister" is given. We may designate the two married couples as the "older" and the "younger" couples, and find that the younger Isaac was a nephew of the older, and his wife Charity was a granddaughter of the older Isaac. The younger Charity may be designated as Charity Lewis Cook, and the older as Charity Wright Cook. The younger Isaac and Charity (Lewis) Cook were first cousins and that may be the reason that this Isaac was disowned for marrying contrary to discipline.
