Biography

  1. Avice daughter of Roger of Derby, in her pure widowhood, confirmed a grant to Hugh son of Anilie de Corona -- the gift of Henry of Notingham, and 2 bovates held of William of Lee, in Forneby; with the chief messuage -- which was witnessed by Hugh de Corona, Nicholas his brother, Robert the Bey, William of Chaddesden, John of the Corner, Walter of Karlton, Hugh of Barue, William of Lecton, Henry of Notingham, clerk.[1]
  2. Henry of Notingham, clerk, to Hugh de Corona, son of Master Roger of Derby -- 5 bovates of land which Roger held of Henry of Waleton, and 2 bovates held of William of Lee, in Forneby; with the chief messuage -- paying yearly 15/2 and a pair of white gloves, which was witnessed by Sir Robert, lord of Lathum, Sir Hugh Fytun (1223-1263), Sir Adam of Molyneuys (1185-1246), Sir John of Lee, Sir Henry of Torboc, Simon of Halsale, Alan the Norreys (1202-), Richard Blundel, William of Coudray, Henry of Waleton, Alan of Waleton, his brother, William of Waleton, serjeant of the king, John the Crossbowman, Adam of Pulton, William of Marton, Bertram of Melys, Walter of Karlton, William of Hargreve, William of Letona, Roger his brother, Ralph of Melys.[2] This deed is undated but the time-frame can be ascertained by the lifespans of the witnesses (dates from WikiTree profiles) ie before 1246 when Sir Adam of Molyneuys died.

Conclusions drawn from these documents:
