Biography

Samuel Jackson Edwards was born on 30 June 1861 in Weston, Umatilla County to Charles Wesley Edwards and Catherine Edwards. (The same year that the Civil War broke out)

Between 1870 and 1880 his parents and family moved from Weston to Columbia County, Washington.

On 03 Nov 1887 he married Lydia F. Goodrich They were married by the Justice of the Peace at the house of Mrs. Goodrich, Witnesses C.M. Beckett and D. Moore. Washington was not yet a state. The marriage certificate says Washington Territory.

His daughter Cora Belle Edwards was born on July 23, 1893, in Washington.

His daughter Mabel Anna was born on June 22, 1895, in Columbia County, Washington.

Samuel Jackson's father Charles Wesley passed away on April 18, 1898, in Dayton, Washington, at the age of 69.

His son Arley Leroy was born on October 7, 1898, in Washington.

In 1900, He, Lydia and the kids were living in Highland, Columbia County, Washington as a farm owner without a mortgage.

His daughter Melia was born on January 4, 1902, in Washington.

His daughter Stella May was born on September 15, 1910, in Washington.

But in 1910 he moved the family to Coeur d'Alene Indian Reservation, Kootenai, Idaho where he rented a farm and worked as a tenant farmer.

His daughter Cora Belle Edwards passed away on November 12, 1918, in Asotin, Washington, at the age of 25.

In 1920 he was renting a farm in Tensed, Benewah County, Idaho where he remained the rest of his life.

On 11 Mar 1932 Samuel passed away in Benewah, Benewah County, Idaho and was buried in Tekoa, Whitman County, Washington in the Goldenrod Cemetery
