Benjamin was born on 4 November 1875 in Lodz, Poland. Note: He signed his name in WW I draft registration card in Hebrew.^[1]

In 1910 Benjamin (age about 34) was employed as a a weaver.^[1]

When Benjamin was about 42 he married Eva Reichbardt in 1918 in Philadelphia (Philadelphia), PA. The couple had 5 children: Celia Elkan, William Elkan, Mary Elkan, Jacob Elkan and Leon Elkan. Residence:^[1]

In 1941 Benjamin was employed as a owner of a deli.

In 1942 Benjamin (age about 66) was living in Oaklyn (Camden) NJ.^[2][3]
