Biography

John Ewing appears first on the tax list of East Nottinghamshire Twp, Chester County PA, in 1729. In the year 1753 he is replaced by "Widow Ewing (John)", and the next year by Henry and Robert Ewing. His letters of admin were issued on 6 March 1754 to his widow Susannah Ewing. The admin bond was also signed by RobertEwing, James Cowdon, and John Hathorn. Later his sons Henry and Robert sold land that they had inherited from him.

Children with Susanna:

  • Robert Ewing (c1730 - 1804) , first married Marjory, then Isabelle Lissey, had one daughter
  • Henry Ewing (c1732 - 1809) , married twice and had nine children
  • Possibly a daughter who married John Hathorn
