George was born at Pentland Hills in 1872.[1] He was the son of John Gorman and Catherine McIvor. He passed away in 1934. [2][3]
George Henry Gorman, farm hand at Bacchus Marsh, joined the 4th Victorian Imperial Bushmen/Australian Imperial Regiment (A.I.R.) (regimental number 97) and sailed from Port Melbourne on the "Victorian" on 1 May 1900 for South Africa.[4][5] He returned to Bacchus Marsh in July 1901.[6]
