Biography

Andreas was born on October 21, 1782 in Manchester, Carroll Co. (Old Baltimore) Maryland to Adam Hahn and Magdalena Hahn. [1]

He died in 1848 in Holt Co., Missouri.

Notes for Andreas Hahn*:

Andrew was a veteran of the War of 1812.

In the fall of 1840, Andrew and Mary traveled to Boone County, Missouri by steamboat and the following spring of 1841 they went overland by Ox team to Holt County with four children; Richard, Daniel, Leah and Nancy. Andrew took out a land patent in 1846 (land records of Holt County)

Andrew Hahn owned a sawmill and taught his sons the trade.

ESTATE RECORD: Preceeding began Jan 1848; Holt Co., Missouri. Actual death date could have been when the estate was billed from a coffin maker on Nov. 23, 1847. Estate record mentions Joshua Hahn of Springfield Township, Mahoning County, Ohio-collection of moneys for the estate. This Joshua is the son of Andrew, born in 1743.

FAMILY BIBLE: Mr. Ferguson is a descendent of Richard Hahn, son of Andrew. He, with the help of Marla Martin took photographs and scanned pages from the Bible and sent them to the submitter. Alice Mae Garaden Montogomery, Hahn Family Historian says Merrill Ferguson was getting ready to sell the old house and started cleaning out the basement. He found an old steamer trunk and opened it to find the old family Bible. The front cover is missing or at least detached. The text is in the German language.

Andrew is buried at the Old Springfield Cemetery, New Middletown, Mahoning County, Ohio. [2]

Andreas Hahn was not married to Maria Margaretha Frankfurter. Also, the source for Find a Grave is for an Andrew Hahn who died in Ohio and was married to Fannie Crossen.
