Married Parish John McDonald on 26 September 1898 in Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico.
Emily's father, Charles Hoffman, was successfully mining silver in California, but found opportunities in Mexico, and developed an alliance with Parish MacDonald, an Immigrant from Ireland. While Charles' family was visiting him in Guanajuato, in the state of Guanajuato, his daughter, Emily, fell in love with Parish, and they married. Parish & Emily had 5 children before they were forced to flee during the Mexican Revolution in February, 1912.
