Note NI5042The 1920 census shows him as Howard L. Howery (17), a boarder (in the household of his brother-in-law Thomas Pervis) at Decatur, Nebraska. He was working as a merchant in a gargage.

The 1922 obituary of his brother Elmer states he was living at Fremont.

1930 census shows him at Council Bluffs, Iowa: Howard L. Howery (28). His household consisted of himself, a housekeeper Myrtle M. Johnson (40), and her daughter Betty J. (8).

1940 census shows him (38) and his wife Carrie (47) living in Fremont, Nebraska. He was working as a laborer for the city. They were living at the same place they lived in 1935.

He is not listed in the 1931 Fremont City Directory. The 1957 Fremont City Directory lists him as a printer, living with his wife Carrie L. at 449 West Jackson. Howard had no children.
