Biography
Caroline HUFF was born about February 1824 in Montgomery County, Virginia. She is believed to have been the daughter of John HUFF and Elizabeth PRATT
She was married on 25 December 1848 in Carter County, Kentucky to Hugh DARBY.
She died on 14 June 1909 in Catlettsburg, Boyd County, Kentucky.
Research Notes
Death Conflict:
- John Wilson the original submitter of this profile stated she died before 1865.[1]
- Caroline DARBY, the widow of Hugh DARBY filed for a Civil War Pension Request for her husband's service in the East 14th Kentucky Infantry in the Civil War on 22 December 1892. As such she was obviously still alive after 1865.
Her daughter Caroline Darby Stratton passed away in 1912.[2]
