Biography

Carl was born in 1894. He was the son of William Hunt and Merniva Moore. He passed away in 1963. He married: Roxie Myrtle Dean (1895-1986). Their children include:

Obituary

The Winona Times (Winona, MS), 31 Jan 1963; page 10 - Justice of Peace Carl E. Hunt dies, services at Bethel - Services for Justice of the Peace Carl Eugene Hunt, 68, of near Poplar Creek in Montgomery County were held at Bethel Baptist Church Monday, Jan. 28 at 10:00. Services were conducted by Rev. A. P. Gilder with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Winona Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hunt died suddenly at his residence Saturday following a heart attack. He was appointed Justice of the Peace in Beat Five last year and had already announced his candidacy for this office in the coming election. A native of Tishomingo County, he was born July 1, 1894.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Roxie Dean Hunt of Poplar Creek, one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Griffin of Charleston, S. C., four sons, Dewey Earl Hunt and Roy Hunt of Poplar Creek, Melvin Hunt of Florence, Ala., and Eugene Hunt of Wynne, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Palmer of Paden; and three brothers, Oscar Hunt of Belmont, Charlie Hunt of Crane Hill, Ala., and Otha Hunt of Culman, Ala.; 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Robert Hunt, Frank Jones, Carl Herring, R. L. Leach, Doyle Hunt, and Percy Jefcoat.
