Alma Elizabeth Krollig was born in December 1914.[1] [The recorded birth residence of "Dutton" may refer to the Hundred of Dutton as the famly farm was on the plain near Steinfeld/Stonefield but possibly far enough west to have been in what is now Dutton East.] She went to school at least partially in German language, but did not speak German at all in later life.
Alma and Ben's engagement was announced in September 1933.
KROLLIG—WITTWER. — The engagement is announced of Alma, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Krollig, of Stonefield, to Ben, third son of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. Wittwer, of Oxford Landing, via Morgan.[2]
Alma married Ben (Hugo Benno) Wittwer at St Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stonefield on 20 November 1935. She was recorded as 20 years old and he was 28.[3]

At the Stonefield Lutheran Church recently, Ben, third son of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. A. Wittwer. of Oxford Landing, was married to Alma, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Krollig, of Stonefield.
The bride was gowned in white marocain. Her frock was made in Raglan style and relieved with silver trimmings. The veil was worn cap fashion and held in place with orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of lilies. Miss Vera Krollig, frocked in pink, was trainbearer.
The bridesmaids, Misses Ella Krollig and Gertrude Wittwer, were dressed alike in pale blue silk voile doreen. They wore silver shoes and stockings and silver head bands, and carried bouquets of pink carnations. Messrs. Rudolph Wittwer and Arthur Krollig were best man and groomsman respectively.[4]
They had four children: Leon, Bevan, Janice and Faye.
The family moved to Commercial Road, Strathalbyn around 1945. After living briefly at Langhorne Creek in the 1970s, Ben and Alma returned to Strathalbyn, and lived at 27 North Parade.[5]
Alma died on 28 September 1990 at Strathalbyn and is buried with Ben at Strathalbyn cemetery. Her funeral was held in the Strathalbyn Lutheran church.
