Hugh McAdam was born in Scotland about 1794, based on his declared age of 57 in the 1851 Census.[1] Note that New Glasgow was the village within the Seigneurie of Lacorne with which we associate this family. Hugh's Place of Birth is assumed based on his place of marriage, hence uncertain.
Hugh and Susan and family emigrated to Canada in the early 1830s, considering the declared children's birth countries and the fact Hugh has not been found on the 1825 nor 1831 census.
Though we don't know the death dates of either Hugh or Susan, they are likely to have passed away in the 1860s, since they are both present on the 1861 census, but not on the 1871.[4]
