Biography

Daniel was born in 1834. He was the son of Christian Menzel and Anna Nuske.

Daniel immigrated with his parents and siblings to South Australia, Australia from Bremen Germany on the vessel "Heloise", arriving on March 17, 1847. He was 12 years of age.

He married Maria Elizabeth Pietschke in 1858 at Barossa, South Australia. They had 9 children: Pauline Maria; Emilie; Friedrich Wilhelm; Augusta; Johann Heinrich; Maria; Anna Elisabeth; Carl Friedrich; Johann August.

Daniel passed away in 1902 at Hochkirch, Victoria, Australia.
