Biography

Elizabeth "Betty" Calmes MEREDITH was born about 1672 in Lancashire, England. She married Capt Leonard Helm on November 23, 1687, in Bolton Le Sands, Lancashire, England.^[1] She had four sons and three daughters with Leonard HELM between 1689 and 1721. She died before November 6, 1745, in Frederick County, Virginia. She is not mentioned in her husband's will.^[2]

On 2 March 1724/25, Leonard Helm came into Court in Spotsylvania County, Virginia and proved his importation along with the importation of Elizabeth, his wife, and Joseph Helms, Maybrie Helms, Leonard Helms, Ann Helms and Mary Helms, his children.
