Namur and the surrounding region are today part of French speaking Belgium.

His parents are unknown.[1]

Thanks for pointing out the error. Namur is not in France. We try to use placenames which correspond to ancient boundaries, so I will call it Lower Lotharingia, but I have now mentioned the connection to Belgium in the text.

Just FYI when you are making modern addresses Belgians do not specify whether a place is in Flanders, Brussels or Wallonia.
