Caleb Northrup was born on December 13, 1763, in New Milford, Connecticut to Moses Northrop and Patience Beardsley. He married Silvina Knowles, daughter of Arthrew Knowles and Abigail Hamlin, on September 2, 1785, in Connecticut. They had ten children in 20 years. He was a farmer and lived in New York, then Canada for six years with his brother, Paul. In the spring of 1817 he moved to Barre, Orleans, New York. He died a few months later on September 18, 1817, in Barre, New York, at the age of 53, and was buried in Albion, Orleans, New York.

"107 CALEB5 NORTHRUP (Moses4, Moses3, Joseph1, Joseph1), b. Dec. 13, 1763, in Pawling, Dutchess Co., N. Y.; m. July 3, 1785, Silvina Knowles (b. Jan. 7, 1765, in New Milford, Conn., and d. June 6, 1819). He (and his brother Paul, also) lived in Newburg, N. Y., for a time, and in Canada 6 years. In spring of 1817 he bought a farm in Barre, Orleans Co., N. Y., and lived there. D. Sept. 18, 1817."[1]
