Biography

William was born 7 February, 1672, in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. ^[1][2] and was likely named after his paternal grandfather.

In 1694 or 1695 William married Margaret Russ, daughter of John Russ and Deborah Osgood Russ. in Andover, Province of Massachusetts Bay^[3][2]

Their only child, John Peters, was born 1 October 1695 in Andover, Province of Massachusetts Bay,^[2] likely named after his maternal grandfather, John Russ or Russe.

William and John Hoyt were scalped and killed by Indians on 13 August, 1696 in Andover, Province of Massachusetts Bay when he left Samuel Blanchard's garrison (where local inhabitants were staying for protection) to go home and fetch his horse. ^[4][2]
