Biography

The name Picard appears on both Holinshed's and Duchesne's copy of the Battle Abbey Roll,[1] while on Leland's Roll there is a Pykarde and a Pikard.[2]

Why would a French man be born in Cheshire in 1066, rather than say, Picardie? Have we mal-LNAB'd him, perhaps?

Do we have a contemporary primary source?

Not sure how to get from the anonymous Picard from Battle Abbey Rolls, to the father of Alice in Chester who m. Hugh FitzOdard de Dutton.
